Real Patient Day!
I have to say that I was a little nervous for today but once my sister got here it wasn't bad at all. I was so relaxed today which is a good thing. I had a lot of fun. It was nice working on someone that doesn't get their teeth worked on every other day. One thing that I totally blew by was that my patient had a little recession and tooth abrasion. I wrote it down as rounded marginal gingivitis. That's how smart I was today. It was fun actually seeing it in a real person other than in a picture that I saw once. I had a great time today and I can't wait for the holiday break!!!!

Relaxing Day!
Once again I was the patient and was able to lay in the chair all clinic hour. What a day. The bad thing is knowing that next time i'm in clinic it will be our real patient day. Oh I am so scared but at the same time I am way excited. I hope that everything goes well and that I have a great time. My sister is coming and so I will just tell her to be quiet and let me work. Just kidding. Well good luck to everyone on MOnday!!!

Mock Patient!
Well I thought that I was the patient today but I was wrong, Thank goodness I brought wrinkled scrubs. I am so glad that I was the operator though. It is good to have it over with. NOw all that I am stressed about is the real patient day. The end is near everyone. No more pe's for me. Yeah

One more PE to go!!!
Today was a good day. We got to pass off three PE's which leaves us with only one more to pass off. I can't believe how fast this semester has gone. It's great. I still hate the air powder polisher but doing sealants are so much fun. Before we know it, we will be done with the semester!!!

Sealants!!
Today we did sealants and the air powder polisher. The polisher hurt like crazy, that was not fun at all. IT is kind of good that we practice on each other before we actually do this on our patients so that we can tell them how it really feels. It hurts. I did however loved doing sealants. They were so much fun. I did two at one time. I was pretty happy. Professor Costley said that I will have tgo do a whole quad next time. WE will see how that one goes!!!

Mock Patient!
So my nightmare that I had last night didn't come true today, thankfully. I don't know why but I didn't sleep well last night. All I thought about was the mock patient and how I did everything wrong. It turns out that it was a great learning experience and I got more done than I thought that I would. It was really fun to actually go through everything from the beginning to end. What a great learning experience!!!!

Easiest Day Ever!
Today was the easiest day ever, I sat in the chair for three hours!!! It was great. I guess on Wednesday it will be my turn to have a patient. It was good to see how everything works before I actually have to do it.

Funnest Day So Far!!
Today has been the funnest day in clinic this whole semester! I loved it! We did polishing and flossing and it was actually something that I grasped and was not hard at all. It is a little weird trying to floss someone else teeth but it was. Savanna if you read this don't be sad today, it's ok that you popped the glue of my retainer!!! Just kidding, it will be ok. Thanks

Just Here!
It was just another day in clinic today. We got to practice scaling a little more which was great because I need the practice. I did however get to pass off 2 more PE's. I have only one PE so far that I can pass off, other than that we have not be taught the other PE's and so it feels good to be a little ahead on something. I still just feel that I have no idea what I am doing but, hopefully I am not the only one. I hope that everyone has a good week, you better because it's HALLOWEEN!!!! I love it!

I did a little better!
Today for clinic we did the posterior teeth for instrumentation. Monday I was flying like a bird but today I did a lot better. I didn't use my elbow as much and the motion that my wrist is supposed to make is making a little more sense to me. I just can't wait for the day that this all comes to me. The day that the light clicks on.

Don't know about scaling
So before clinic today I felt pretty good about scaling. I thought I had the right concept in mind, but after today I guess not. Lets see I used my elbow to much like a bird and I wasn't grasping to concept to rotate on my fulcrum finger. I was a dork. I think that Angie could have killed me today, I could tell she was getting a little frustrated with me. It was funny, I asked her not to squeeze my arm that hard and it was funny just to see her face. She didn't realize that we was doing it she was just trying to keep it from moving. It was a great day in clinic!!!

Scaling Rocks!
Today in clinic we learned how to scale with our Nebraska instrument. It was really fun but it still feels a little weird. I did make Pam bleed a little because I didn't role my instrument properly. Hopefully I will be able to get a little better at this. They tell me to practice on the typodont, which is good advice but how do I know when I hurt the little guy. One exciting news is that I don't have radiology today!! That makes it such a good day!

Another Day!
Clinic today was pretty layed back. I have to be honest, I wasn't looking forward to clinic today. It actually went by really fast. I was just a little furious with my instrument cases. They would not close for the life of me. Angie couldn't even get them closed. I am a little nervous about knowing which instrument is which but like they always say, You will just know!!! Hopefully.

What a DAy!!
Wow, today in clinic was a little crazy. We didn't get much time to do everything that we needed to do but, it was nice to practice the steps again. I really liked how we got to to another quad. for probing. We started out with the lowers and then noticed that it was taking to long. It was good practice. P.S. the disclosing tablet is so much better than the liquid.

Disclosing!!
What a fun day in clinic!! We did disclosing which was really interesting to see. At first I was a little nervous on how much plaque I would have because I have not been to the dentist in a year and a half! It turns out that it wasn't that bad. My PFI was better than I thought. I think that they should make the disclosing solution flavored by the way. It is not the greatest tasting thing!!

Dental Screening
Today we did our dental screening and I felt so bad for Savanna. She had to work on me and I think that I had an composite on every one of my molars and premolars. That sucks. Anyways, clinic went by so fast today which was good. I had a lot of fun learning how to chart and how to use the proper signs for each thing.

Just another day!
Today we did a little more of probing which was good to get some more practice in. I still feel like an idiot trying to do it but when Kim checked my work I actually did really well. We also did an intra oral exam to see if there was any gingivitis, I have two spots that have a little marginal gingivitis and so that means that I need to work on those spots when taking care of my teeth. It was good to know because I had no idea I even had a little of gingivitis. Until next time!!!

I did it!!
I am so excited, I passed of my vital sign PE and I was so scared. I have never taken blood pressure and so I was really scared that I wouldn't pass. I struggle hearing the systolic pressure and so I figured that they wouldn't pass me but, Julie, my nice TA was so great. She helped me through the whole thing and gave me some tips. It feels good to have that done and behind me cause now I can focus on my exams this week and not the PE's!

Explorers!
Today in clinic we got to use the explorers and it was really fun. I enjoyed it. Although I might say that I suck with the lingual side and usually have the wrong end of the instrument, I still liked it. It will probably take me forever to grasp the concept of the lingual side but hopefully I will get is sooner or later. Good luck to you all this week on all of the exams and before we know it, it will be over!!!

Just another day!
So today we learned how to use a fulcrum and an instrument at the same time. Wow, can we say, retarded. I have just come to conclude that my middle finger is so much longer than the others and that is why I am having such a hard time. I just say that to make me feel better but, I do know that hopefully I will feel a little more comfortable with how to use the proper pen grasp. I love Wednesdays also because the TA's are there and we have more time to pass of PE's and that's great. I passed two more off today, and that made me happy.

INtra oral exam
Today in clinic was really layed back. Which was great, but the thing that is really bothering me is the health history write up. It is still not coming to me, as they told me it would. So hopefully I do well on the PE. I was the model today in clinic for the intra oral exam, I knew she would pick me because just by looking at me you can tell that I have a big mouth. It was fun to learn all of these things that I had no idea that all of these things were in my mouth. It was a great day!!!!

Getting better!
Today was actually a good day. I passed off two more PE's not expecting to. Well actually the eaglesoft was due today and I did actually really well. I don't know why I was so worried about it but I just was. Anyways, I got that done and also the patient positioning done. It was a good day. We learned how to use indirect illumimnation and I think that this will be one that I have to work on, but I do have to say that Professor Costley said that I was really relaxed and she liked my hand positioning. Anything good that she says about anyone could make your day go better which I think that it will. I hope clinic is getting better for everyone else as well.

Another ealglesoft!!
Really, we just learned another part to the eaglesoft. I have not even passed off the first ealgesoft yet. I am a struggler with this. Hopefully I will get the hang of this sooner or later. Good news is that I passed off two more PE's today, so that is a relief. Clinic was pretty fun, we did vital signs. I suck. That's all I have to say. Either I am deaf or just really stupid. I struggled with the blood pressure. I will be taking it home and practicing on my husband for sure.

Eaglesoft
So I have been so stressed out about the eaglesoft PE ever since we learned how to do it. I think that I was the only one that had no idea what was going on. Today, however, I practiced the PE with my friend Katee and realized that it was not that bad. Jen also helped me so thank you so much for making my weekend a little less stressful. If anyone needs help with the PE let me know.

2 PE's complete
Yes!! I have two Pe's completed. That feels a little better but they just keep coming. I think that I might stay with my TA's to pass them off, I had Prof. Costley for one of them and I got so nervous. It was a little intimidating I have to say. No, but really it wasn't that bad she gave me some great advice! Today we learned how to write up a treatment health history form, wow, that was confusing. I still have no idea what to write. They just keep telling me that it will come to me. I'm still waiting!!!

It's getting easier!
So I was dreading today because my schedule for school is from 7:50 - 4:20. It actually turned out to not be that bad. It actually went pretty fast. Clinic was a little bit easier to comprehend and I have to say that it was fun working on the typodonts! I don't think I spelled that right, anyway, the typodont's are awesome. Radiology was fun and the Dexter's are just as great. I took my first x-ray today! It was a little cone-shaped but other than that, it was perfect. I'll put that one in my scrapbook for sure!!! I am just kidding. Anyways, I'm getting a little more organized which is really good. I hope all of you feel the same way.

2 days down
Wow! Can I say overwhelming. Yesterday I had my first day of clinic and it was actually ok. A lot of information to take in but I think that once I get myself organized, it will become easier day by day. Hopefully. I can't wait until all of the introductions are done with because if my face goes red one more time, it's really embarrassing. Today in anatomy, the whole class was laughing because of how red my face was. That's just great, a good way to top the day off.
