Funnest Day So Far!!

Today has been the funnest day in clinic this whole semester! I loved it! We did polishing and flossing and it was actually something that I grasped and was not hard at all. It is a little weird trying to floss someone else teeth but it was. Savanna if you read this don't be sad today, it's ok that you popped the glue of my retainer!!! Just kidding, it will be ok. Thanks

Just Here!

It was just another day in clinic today. We got to practice scaling a little more which was great because I need the practice. I did however get to pass off 2 more PE's. I have only one PE so far that I can pass off, other than that we have not be taught the other PE's and so it feels good to be a little ahead on something. I still just feel that I have no idea what I am doing but, hopefully I am not the only one. I hope that everyone has a good week, you better because it's HALLOWEEN!!!! I love it!

I did a little better!

Today for clinic we did the posterior teeth for instrumentation. Monday I was flying like a bird but today I did a lot better. I didn't use my elbow as much and the motion that my wrist is supposed to make is making a little more sense to me. I just can't wait for the day that this all comes to me. The day that the light clicks on.

Don't know about scaling

So before clinic today I felt pretty good about scaling. I thought I had the right concept in mind, but after today I guess not. Lets see I used my elbow to much like a bird and I wasn't grasping to concept to rotate on my fulcrum finger. I was a dork. I think that Angie could have killed me today, I could tell she was getting a little frustrated with me. It was funny, I asked her not to squeeze my arm that hard and it was funny just to see her face. She didn't realize that we was doing it she was just trying to keep it from moving. It was a great day in clinic!!!

Scaling Rocks!

Today in clinic we learned how to scale with our Nebraska instrument. It was really fun but it still feels a little weird. I did make Pam bleed a little because I didn't role my instrument properly. Hopefully I will be able to get a little better at this. They tell me to practice on the typodont, which is good advice but how do I know when I hurt the little guy. One exciting news is that I don't have radiology today!! That makes it such a good day!

Another Day!

Clinic today was pretty layed back. I have to be honest, I wasn't looking forward to clinic today. It actually went by really fast. I was just a little furious with my instrument cases. They would not close for the life of me. Angie couldn't even get them closed. I am a little nervous about knowing which instrument is which but like they always say, You will just know!!! Hopefully.

What a DAy!!

Wow, today in clinic was a little crazy. We didn't get much time to do everything that we needed to do but, it was nice to practice the steps again. I really liked how we got to to another quad. for probing. We started out with the lowers and then noticed that it was taking to long. It was good practice. P.S. the disclosing tablet is so much better than the liquid.

Disclosing!!

What a fun day in clinic!! We did disclosing which was really interesting to see. At first I was a little nervous on how much plaque I would have because I have not been to the dentist in a year and a half! It turns out that it wasn't that bad. My PFI was better than I thought. I think that they should make the disclosing solution flavored by the way. It is not the greatest tasting thing!!

Dental Screening

Today we did our dental screening and I felt so bad for Savanna. She had to work on me and I think that I had an composite on every one of my molars and premolars. That sucks. Anyways, clinic went by so fast today which was good. I had a lot of fun learning how to chart and how to use the proper signs for each thing.
